Description

  • Own and evolve the shared app shell, component library, hooks, and typed API client, including versioning and migration paths.
  • Build reusable, configuration-driven components for tables, charts, dashboards, forms, chat, and streaming generative interfaces.
  • Define and implement the frontend testing strategy across component, integration, and end-to-end tests.
  • Own frontend performance through budgets, code splitting, profiling, and dependency management.
  • Set design-system direction across Material UI and the in-house component library.
  • Ensure accessibility, including Section 508 and WCAG 2.1 AA compliance, and classification-aware UI requirements.
  • Partner with backend teams on APIs, authentication, sessions, real-time events, and browser security.
  • Support project teams through code reviews, technical guidance, and shared-platform adoption.
  • Lead migration of the existing frontend to the new platform while maintaining feature delivery.
  • Mentor engineers and raise frontend engineering standards across the company.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 6+ years of experience building production web applications with deep React and TypeScript expertise.
  • Experience owning shared component libraries, design systems, or frontend platforms used by multiple teams.
  • Strong knowledge of modern React, hooks, Suspense, concurrent rendering, and server-state libraries such as TanStack Query.
  • Experience with client-state tools such as Zustand or Redux and sound judgment about when to use them.
  • Fluency with Vite, pnpm workspaces, ESLint, TypeScript project configuration, and frontend CI.
  • Experience with Vitest or Jest, Testing Library, and Playwright or Cypress.
  • Experience building data-dense interfaces with server-paginated tables, interactive charts, and dashboards.
  • Working knowledge of browser security, including cookies, CSP, XSS, CSRF, and dependency supply chains.
  • Clear written communication for design documents, code reviews, and technical documentation.
  • Experience with Web Components/Lit, Material UI theming, streaming interfaces, data visualization, or graph editors preferred.
  • Experience with DoD or regulated environments, Section 508, NIST 800-53/800-171, CMMC 2.0, frontend migrations, or startup teams preferred.
