Description

  • Independently red-team designs, models, and analyses across programs to uncover failure modes, hidden assumptions, and weaknesses before decisions are finalized.
  • Build and run models and simulations to validate or break technical claims, including developing analysis tooling when needed.
  • Reconstruct, verify, and challenge others' work to identify errors and gaps missed by initial analysis.
  • Work closely with Systems, GNC, Software, Hardware, Mission Ops, and Test Engineering teams to translate findings into actionable design guidance.
  • Apply hands-on systems-building experience to catch problems during analysis rather than in flight or field testing.
  • Communicate complex technical results clearly to engineers, leadership, and other stakeholders, including strong visual presentation of data.
  • Stress-test trade studies and independently pressure-test program decisions across cross-functional engineering teams.
  • Reason across multiple domains and physics regimes as problems span space, missiles, air systems, autonomy, sensors, and networking.

Requirements

  • Active U.S. Top Secret security clearance and ability to maintain it.
  • Hands-on experience both designing/building and analyzing real engineering systems, not analysis-only experience.
  • Demonstrated ability in failure analysis, adversarial review, independent verification, or similar work that finds issues others miss.
  • Proven ability to independently own and execute deliverables with little to no management.
  • Proficiency with physics-math scripting tools such as MATLAB, Simulink, or Python with numpy/scipy.
  • Strong engineering background in Aerospace, Dynamics & Controls, GNC, Systems, or a related field.
  • Outstanding communication skills, including the ability to present complex data visually.
  • 10+ years of experience in a relevant science or engineering field is preferred.
  • Hands-on design and analysis experience across multiple areas such as space systems, missiles/missile defense, air vehicles, GNC, sensors and sensor fusion, radar, or EW is preferred.
  • Formal red-team, T&E, IV&V, mission-assurance, or failure-analysis experience is preferred.
  • Familiarity with domain analysis tools such as STK/Astrogator or AFSIM is preferred.
  • Experience with genetic algorithms, machine learning, AI, or reinforcement learning is preferred.
