Description

  • Drive systems thinking, processes, and capabilities for core Anduril products including Altius, Anvil, Bolt, and Ghost.
  • Partner with product leads and business lines to scope, staff, and deliver capabilities aligned to company milestones.
  • Work with functional engineering teams to drive architectural design for safety, reliability, usability, modularity, upgradability, maintainability, and diagnosability.
  • Define system and subsystem requirements, along with risk reduction and verification and validation strategies for system-of-systems and subsystem assemblies.
  • Execute and manage System Hazard Analyses and subsystem Failure Modes and Effects Analyses to drive safety- and reliability-centric requirements.
  • Coordinate and execute test events across multiple integration levels, from in-lab software simulations to flight test.
  • Interpret and apply defense and industry standards for safety and interoperability, including STANAG and MIL-STD requirements.
  • Serve as a trusted technical partner and demonstrate strong ownership across engineering teams and leaders.
  • Ensure requirements are tightly tied to the capability roadmap to support efficient development and rapid iteration.
  • Identify and resolve cross-team dependencies and inefficiencies while leading complex technical initiatives across multiple programs.

Requirements

  • Degree in Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in the defense or safety-critical industry.
  • Experience with safety-critical development standards, reliability and safety fault or hazard analysis, and requirements-driven verification and validation strategies.
  • Demonstrated proficiency applying engineering standards within engineering processes.
  • Proven ability to self-start and own tasks and risks from identification through closure.
  • Experience writing verifiable system-, subsystem-, and software/hardware/component-level requirements.
  • Experience conducting safety and reliability analyses such as PHAs, SHAs, FME(C)As, or FTAs.
  • Experience with systems and Python.
  • Familiarity with modern software development practices, including unit testing, integration testing, and release processes.
  • Competence with test equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, debuggers, current probes, and test automation.
  • Comfort working with ambiguity, evolving priorities, and challenging problems.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% for test field events.
  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain an active Secret U.S. security clearance.
  • Preferred: experience developing electromechanical system models for design, operation, and troubleshooting.
  • Preferred: hands-on manufacturing and/or flight testing experience.
  • Preferred: experience in design engineering.
  • Preferred: experience in software engineering.
  • Preferred: understanding of aerodynamics, avionics, and flight systems.
