Description

  • Partner with program and engineering leadership to drive cost, schedule, and technical performance for carrier-based Group 5 autonomous platforms.
  • Own critical program workstreams and manage customer relationships to ensure delivery on commitments.
  • Lead internal research and development efforts that reduce technical risk and support future platform growth.
  • Shape investment strategy with senior leadership, stand up and execute R&D projects, and transition results into programs of record.
  • Serve as the resident subject matter expert on carrier flight operations, deck handling, launch and recovery, and shipboard aircraft integration.
  • Translate carrier operational constraints into technical requirements, autonomy architecture inputs, and test scenarios.
  • Support requirements decomposition and trade studies to balance design complexity, weight, performance, cost, schedule, and operational need.
  • Work across engineering, cybersecurity, GNC, subsystems, survivability, mission systems, manufacturing, and test teams to ensure realistic and safe autonomous behaviors.
  • Lead preparation for and execution of program reviews, milestone events, and customer deliverables.
  • Develop strong relationships with customers and stakeholders to enable rapid iteration and fielding of capability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, Math, IT, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field; technical background preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of combined experience in program management, naval aviation, and/or carrier-based aircraft development.
  • Direct military or civilian experience in U.S. Navy carrier flight operations or carrier-based aircraft design, integration, test, or sustainment.
  • Proven experience managing complex, multi-million-dollar programs or major workstreams with on-time, on-budget execution.
  • Strong strategic thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to move between tactical execution and strategic direction.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for presenting to engineers, executives, and government customers.
  • Current active U.S. Secret security clearance and ability to maintain it.
  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Top Secret security clearance.
  • BS or higher in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related technical discipline preferred.
  • Experience as a Naval Aviator, Naval Flight Officer, Aircraft Handling Officer, or in a similar carrier flight operations role preferred.
  • Graduate of a military Test Pilot School or Weapons and Tactics School preferred.
  • Experience with autonomous systems, especially unmanned aircraft operations, preferred.
  • Familiarity with Anduril's Lattice platform or similar autonomous command-and-control architectures preferred.
  • Experience across multiple phases of carrier-based aircraft development, including conceptual design through sustainment, preferred.
  • Experience with DoD flight clearance and airworthiness certification processes preferred.
  • Experience managing internal R&D portfolios or technology investment programs preferred.
