Description

  • Develop a new Army vision system for wearable mixed reality applications.
  • Design mechanical components that integrate multispectral sensors, compute, thermal management, and ballistic protection.
  • Lead prototyping and evaluation efforts with a high degree of autonomy.
  • Balance SWAP-C constraints with human factors, comfort, and packaging requirements.
  • Create detailed mechanical designs and engineering drawings for prototype-to-production development.
  • Support design for traditional and additive manufacturing using metals and composites.
  • Perform structural analysis, including finite element analysis, to evaluate performance under impact and stress.
  • Apply ergonomics and human factors principles to ensure comfort, fit, and usability for prolonged tactical wear.
  • Work with manufacturing processes such as molding, laminating, and machining.
  • Account for thermal and environmental effects on materials and hardware performance.

Requirements

  • BS, M.Eng, MS, or PhD in an engineering field.
  • 7+ years of mechanical engineering experience.
  • CAD skills on any platform and ability to produce high-quality engineering drawings.
  • Experience with detailed mechanical design for traditional and additive manufacturing from prototype through production.
  • Experience designing wearable devices with attention to ergonomics and human factors.
  • Ability to perform finite element analysis (FEA).
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes including molding, laminating, and machining.
  • Understanding of thermal and environmental considerations affecting materials and performance.
  • Must be a U.S. person and eligible to attain a U.S. Security Clearance.
  • Preferred: consumer electronics packaging and design experience, including cameras, displays, SoC integration, and ruggedization.
  • Preferred: experience with military qualification programs and MIL-STD requirements.
  • Preferred: experience with NX/Teamcenter, including FEA extensions.
  • Preferred: experience with rapid prototyping and iterating with 3D printed assets.
