Description

  • Own part or all of the manufacturing value chain for a product or set of products.
  • Develop novel tooling solutions for fabrication and assembly of structural parts.
  • Develop process flows that break complex assemblies into logical subassemblies and subprocesses.
  • Write manufacturing documentation such as work instructions, quality plans, and inspection requirements.
  • Work with contract manufacturers to build repeatable processes for rapid development and scaled production.
  • Build prototype hardware hands-on with technicians and other engineers.
  • Contribute to mechanical or electrical hardware design, including interconnects, board fabrication, and inspection.
  • Travel to suppliers to support sourcing, troubleshoot production issues, and implement quality procedures.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in a relevant field, preferably manufacturing or electromechanical hardware design.
  • Degree in a technical field preferred, such as engineering, math, or a hard science.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver electromechanical hardware in a resource-constrained environment.
  • Demonstrated in-kind or direct team leadership experience with supporting examples.
  • Personal experience physically manufacturing hardware through machining, fabrication, soldering, or assembly.
  • Genuine interest in manufacturing and a strong desire to learn.
  • Must be a U.S. Person due to access to export-controlled information or facilities.
  • Willingness to work extended hours and weekends when required by business priorities.
  • Frequent business travel within Texas is required.
  • Hands-on experience with R/C or autonomous flight vehicles, flight controllers, or related control systems (preferred).
  • Software scripting experience in any language (preferred).
  • Lean Six Sigma certification (Green Belt or higher) or equivalent experience (preferred).
  • Familiarity with J-STD-001, IPC-A-610, and IPC/WHMA-A-620 or equivalent standards (preferred).
