Description

  • Develop and validate guidance and control laws for autonomous drone systems.
  • Perform hardware-in-the-loop and software-in-the-loop testing and analysis.
  • Design and analyze aerodynamics for fixed-wing, rotary-wing, and hybrid VTOL platforms across multiple design stages.
  • Use CFD and low-order methods to evaluate aircraft performance and improve analysis tools.
  • Develop and maintain in-house aerodynamic analysis tools.
  • Design, implement, and maintain high-fidelity flight simulation models.
  • Validate simulation results against wind tunnel and flight test data.
  • Work with flight test personnel to plan and execute aircraft performance tests.
  • Coordinate wind tunnel testing and analyze the resulting aerodynamic data.
  • Prepare technical reports and briefings to communicate findings to stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of applicable professional experience with airborne platforms.
  • 7+ years of experience in aerodynamic design and analysis, flight simulation, and flight testing.
  • Hands-on experience with CFD tools, MATLAB/Simulink, or equivalent simulation platforms.
  • 5+ years of programming and data analysis experience with MATLAB, Simulink, Python, C++, or similar tools.
  • Strong understanding of aerodynamics, flight dynamics, stability, and control.
  • US person status required due to access to export-controlled information.
  • A passion for defending the United States of America and its allies.
  • PhD in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience with flight control design and analysis for fixed-wing, rotary-wing, or missile systems is preferred.
  • C/C++ expertise is preferred.
  • Experience with Simulink Embedded Coder is preferred.
