Description

  • Author, review, and approve NDT procedures and techniques for UT, RT, PT, MT, and VT methods.
  • Serve as the primary technical authority for interpreting NDT results, codes, standards, and specifications.
  • Provide final disposition on non-conforming indications and critical hardware acceptability decisions.
  • Train, examine, and certify NDT Level I and II personnel in accordance with SNT-TC-1A and NAVSEA 271.
  • Develop novel inspection techniques for new materials, complex geometries, and advanced manufacturing processes.
  • Select, procure, and qualify NDT equipment for new and expanding manufacturing facilities.
  • Collaborate with design engineering, manufacturing engineering, and welding engineering to ensure inspectability is built into products and processes.
  • Oversee and audit external NDT suppliers to ensure compliance with Anduril and NAVSEA standards.
  • Lead and support internal and external audits of the NDT program.
  • Develop, implement, and oversee a comprehensive NDT program for maritime programs.

Requirements

  • Verifiable work experience meeting NAVSEA T9074-AS-GIB-010/271 minimum training and work time requirements for Level III Examiner certification.
  • Current NDT Level III certification from a recognized body, such as ASNT, in at least three methods: UT, RT, PT, or MT.
  • Demonstrated experience in a responsible NDT Level III role under a NAVSEA 271-compliant program.
  • Experience developing and administering an NDT personnel qualification and certification program under SNT-TC-1A and NAVSEA 271.
  • Experience performing NDT on critical welded structures, pressure vessels, castings, or forgings for naval or critical defense applications.
  • Must be a U.S. Person, meaning a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident.
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.
  • Active Secret or Top-Secret security clearance is preferred.
  • Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering discipline is preferred, such as Materials Science, Welding Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Knowledge of related fabrication and inspection codes, including NAVSEA S9074-AQ-GIB-010/248, ASME B&PV Section V, AWS D1.2, and MIL-STD-2132.
  • Experience establishing a NAVSEA 271-compliant NDT program from the ground up in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Experience developing and qualifying NDT procedures for advanced materials such as carbon fiber composites and titanium alloys.
