Description

  • Own the mechanical and thermal aspects of hardware design from initial requirements through transition to full production.
  • Develop mechanical designs that tightly integrate thermal solutions, RF hardware, PCBAs, and cabling.
  • Prototype rapidly to identify issues early and support compressed product development timelines.
  • Support customer-facing hardware demonstrations and use feedback to better understand customer requirements.
  • Travel to test sites as needed.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary technical teams to understand radar design objectives and end-user needs.
  • Plan and execute design work to ensure optimal radar performance.
  • Contribute to radar system development from ideation through initial production.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of professional mechanical design experience.
  • Experience in an immersive technical project in a collegiate or professional setting.
  • CAD skills on any platform and ability to produce high-quality engineering drawings that meet industry standards.
  • Demonstrated hands-on fabrication skills and ability to root-cause and adapt quickly to manufacturing issues.
  • Strong understanding and practical use of engineering first principles.
  • Experience integrating PCBAs and other electronics into a mechanical system.
  • BSME, MS, or PhD in a related engineering field.
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain an active Secret clearance.
  • Experience with NX/Teamcenter (preferred).
  • Experience designing passive and active thermal management into mechanical designs (preferred).
  • Experience designing hardware with EMI constraints (preferred).
  • Experience designing parts for CNC machining, sheet metal, injection molding, and 3D printing (preferred).
  • Experience working closely with electrical, software, and manufacturing engineers (preferred).
