Description

  • Build aerospace test harnesses to IPC standards based on engineering drawings, with a focus on EMI/EMC considerations.
  • Rework, repair, and modify complex high-density PCBAs to IPC standards per engineering drawings.
  • Update existing test systems to improve automation, consistency, and coverage based on engineering instructions.
  • Maintain and calibrate electrical and mechanical test equipment.
  • Create assembly instructions and bill of materials for harness and PCBA build or modification requests.
  • Verify, review, and document test data after test completion.
  • Monitor and perform compliance tests, including MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-464, and other standard tests.
  • Troubleshoot test issues and interact with customers when needed.
  • Maintain the lab by cleaning equipment, keeping calibrated instruments current, and organizing supplies.
  • Travel to test sites and external laboratories as required.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of electronics lab and testing experience in an R&D environment.
  • Experience with electrical compliance testing, including EMI/EMC testing per MIL-STD-461G, MIL-STD-464D, and DOD-160.
  • Familiarity with IPC quality standards, including IPC-610, IPC-620, and J-STD assembly and inspection standards.
  • Familiarity with reading electrical system and component schematics.
  • Familiarity with product development life cycle, reliability, and compliance testing.
  • Advanced understanding of DMMs, oscilloscopes, and power supplies.
  • Understanding of RF measurement techniques and instruments such as spectrum analyzers, EMI receivers, network analyzers, and power meters.
  • Working knowledge of basic safety practices.
  • Ability to use standard EMI equipment, accurately capture data, and use TILE (Total Integrated Laboratory Environment) test software.
  • Strong root cause analysis skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Ability to pivot quickly between tasks and prioritize simultaneous work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.
  • Preferred: 5+ years of electronics testing experience.
  • Preferred: IPC-610, IPC-620, IPC7711/7721, and J-STD certification (CIS or CIT).
  • Preferred: Associate degree in Electrical/Electronics, Computer, Mechanical Technologies, or a related field.
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Preferred: Experience with high-voltage and high-power testing such as propulsion inverters and batteries.
  • Preferred: Experience with equipment calibration and metrology.
