Description

  • Plan, execute, and document hardware verification activities across the full product lifecycle.
  • Support design verification testing, environmental qualification, production acceptance, and ground and flight test.
  • Demonstrate that hardware meets system-level requirements and technical performance metrics before fielding.
  • Develop verification cross-reference matrices, test plans, and verification evidence packages.
  • Decompose system-level requirements into component-level verification evidence and traceability.
  • Review and interpret qualification test reports, certificates of conformance, and supplier technical data packages.
  • Apply qualification by similarity assessments and gap analyses for COTS/MOTS hardware.
  • Work within the systems engineering V-model and the program Systems Engineering Management Plan.
  • Collaborate with engineering and test teams to support qualification and acceptance of hardware.

Requirements

  • B.S. in aerospace, mechanical, electrical, or a similar engineering or technical field.
  • 3+ years of experience in systems engineering, hardware qualification, or test & evaluation in aerospace, defense, or similarly regulated industries.
  • Direct experience supporting environmental qualification testing of electronic or electromechanical hardware such as LRUs, avionics, or actuators.
  • Working knowledge of MIL-STD-810 environmental test methods including vibration, shock, temperature, altitude, humidity, salt fog, and sand & dust.
  • Familiarity with MIL-STD-461 EMI/EMC requirements, including conducted and radiated emissions and susceptibility.
  • Familiarity with MIL-STD-464 electromagnetic environmental effects, including bonding, HERP, HERO, and TEMPEST.
  • Understanding of MIL-STD-704 aircraft electric power characteristics as they apply to utilization equipment.
  • Understanding of verification methods: Test, Analysis, Demonstration, and Inspection.
  • Experience with requirements traceability from system-level requirements to component-level verification evidence.
  • Ability to read and interpret qualification test reports, certificates of conformance, and supplier technical data packages.
  • Experience with V&V planning, including VCRMs, test plans, and verification evidence packages.
  • Understanding of Qualification by Similarity methodology, including similarity assessments and gap analysis for COTS/MOTS hardware.
  • Familiarity with the systems engineering V-model and how hardware qualification feeds into system-level acceptance.
  • Proficiency with requirements management tools such as Jama, DOORS, or Polarion.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance.
  • 5+ years in hardware qualification or environmental test engineering is preferred.
  • Experience with DO-160 and cross-referencing DO-160 results against MIL-STD-810/461 is preferred.
  • Experience with MIL-HDBK-310 and operational environment definition is preferred.
  • Hands-on experience directing or witnessing environmental testing at a qualification test lab is preferred.
  • Experience with Foundry, Confluence, or similar platforms is preferred.
  • Experience supporting airworthiness or safety-of-flight qualification programs is preferred.
  • Familiarity with AS9100 or equivalent quality management systems is preferred.
  • Prior work on UAS, tactical aircraft, or similar defense platforms is preferred.
  • Active Secret clearance or higher is preferred.
