Description

  • Design and implement deep learning and reinforcement learning algorithms to improve sensor perception, prediction, and decision-making for autonomous vehicles.
  • Design and implement integrated agentic AI models to solve end-user autonomous systems workflows and enable multi-modal interaction patterns.
  • Develop prototypes and iterate on research approaches to expand autonomous system capabilities, including unproven/novel methods.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate research prototypes into robust, production-ready systems, simulations, and real-world platforms.
  • Conduct research and experimentation on reinforcement learning strategies and deep architectures, iterate experimental designs, and evaluate performance with quantitative metrics.
  • Utilize real-world and synthetic data and scalable distributed training pipelines to improve model robustness and generalization.
  • Build, test, and deploy capabilities in real-world environments, including supporting simulation and validation workflows and reducing operator burden via realtime monitoring and recommendations.

Requirements

  • Sophisticated knowledge of large language models (LLMs) with understanding of how they work and how they're applied.
  • Solid experience with reinforcement learning methods and their application to autonomous systems.
  • Proven experience shipping products end-to-end from research/prototype to production.
  • Experience with simulation or real-world validation for autonomous vehicles (highly desirable).
  • Degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Machine Learning, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience (Master’s or PhD preferred).
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Top Secret security clearance.
  • Willingness to travel up to 40%+ of the time to build, test, and deploy capabilities in the real world.
  • Proven deep learning research and development experience in generative AI (e.g., diffusion models, autoregressive models).
  • Experience processing multi-modal sensor data (cameras, LiDAR, radar) and familiarity with motion planning or related robotics software engineering.
  • Familiarity with MLOps best practices including model versioning and reproducible research pipelines, strong Python skills, and familiarity with C/C++ as a plus.
  • Track record of novel applications and community contribution (first-author publications, peer-reviewed conferences, open-source contributions) is preferred.
