Description

  • Hire high-caliber engineers to support team growth.
  • Mentor team members and help them progress toward career goals.
  • Drive processes that sustain a high-performance engineering team.
  • Refine the engineering roadmap and help define team technology strategy.
  • Lead engineers and own the quality, timeliness, and impact of team execution.
  • Provide coaching and feedback to improve team performance and growth.
  • Work closely with product managers to align product investment with team capacity and technical realities.
  • Collaborate with other engineering managers, people/recruiting, and the broader engineering organization to drive growth, retention, and hiring.
  • Own growth planning, recruiting, and performance management for the team.
  • Support operational excellence and help deliver scalable solutions to complex problems.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience managing, mentoring, and growing a geographically distributed team.
  • Demonstrated experience building robust, high-performance, complex distributed applications.
  • Experience tackling challenging architectural problems and collaborating with engineers to deliver solutions.
  • Experience building services from scratch and supporting them over time.
  • Strong commitment to code quality and test infrastructure.
  • Focus on end-user experience and business value over novelty.
  • Understanding of computer science fundamentals, including concurrency, algorithms, and data structures.
  • Preferred: experience with regulatory compliance controls in the financial services industry.
  • Preferred: background in the finance industry.
  • Preferred: professional experience with Go, Rust, TypeScript, or Solidity.
  • Preferred: familiarity with optimistic and zero-knowledge technologies.
  • Formal computer science degree is not required.
