Description

  • Lead project and task execution, including business development for CMS and the CMS Innovation Center (CMMI).
  • Direct large, complex projects or portfolios of smaller projects and oversee project planning, design, and implementation procedures.
  • Provide senior subject matter expertise on specialty care, including quality measures, payment policies, and program and model design.
  • Lead proposal development, including review of proposals, briefings, and client relationship and business development activities.
  • Serve as an industry expert on alternative payment models, value-based reimbursement, and Medicare payment policies related to specialty care.
  • Coach and manage staff, set developmental goals, and support employee growth.
  • Foster an inclusive environment that values diverse perspectives, experiences, backgrounds, and strengths.
  • Translate research findings into actionable insights for policymakers, payers, providers, and patients.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in Economics, Health Services Research, or a related field with at least 7 years of relevant experience managing and conducting research, or a master’s degree with at least 11 years of relevant experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience leading large federal contracts.
  • Direct experience on prior or current CMMI alternative payment model contracts.
  • Proven track record of winning new business with CMS, AHRQ, or other HHS agencies.
  • Extensive knowledge of Medicare payment policy, Medicare Advantage, and/or Medicaid.
  • Knowledge of Medicare claims, provider claims, survey data, and publicly available datasets.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills at a senior level.
  • Extensive success in writing, conceptualizing, analyzing, and consulting on large-scale federally funded projects.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in writing.
  • Must be currently authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis; visa sponsorship, including H-1B, is not available.
  • Qualified candidates may need to meet certain residency requirements depending on project work.

  • Annual salary range of $155,700 to $190,000 USD.
