Description

  • Provide instruction and support to students in a professional online learning environment.
  • Facilitate a safe, productive course experience and maintain an active academic presence.
  • Respond promptly to student questions, content clarification requests, posts, and personal inquiries.
  • Review course functionality and content to ensure high-quality delivery.
  • Add relevant personal experience, insights, or professional knowledge to enrich course content.
  • Monitor student assignments and provide feedback in line with college policies.
  • Track, synthesize, and report student performance data in a timely manner.
  • Support academic integrity by teaching ethical conduct and addressing plagiarism or copyright issues.
  • Direct students to supplemental resources to strengthen individual skills and abilities.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and leadership, including attending required meetings.
  • Promote the college’s mission, vision, culture, and civic engagement initiatives.
  • Pursue ongoing professional development and stay current on curriculum, industry trends, and emerging issues.

Requirements

  • Earned terminal degree in a field related to ESL/BL, Early Childhood Education, Curriculum & Instruction, Literacy, or Special Education.
  • Minimum of 3 peer-reviewed professional publications and presentations for the Doctoral Teaching & Learning role.
  • At least 1 year of teaching experience in a formal educational setting using traditional and non-traditional formats.
  • Higher education teaching experience is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated success developing online or virtual professional relationships.
  • Evidence of professional research and/or creative endeavors and field expertise.
  • Strong communication, organization, and time management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision and collaborate with department personnel.
  • Must be comfortable working remotely and communicating in real time through online and electronic media.
  • Must live outside Alaska, Washington D.C., Massachusetts, South Dakota, and Alabama.
