Description

  • Teach and support students in online courses as an adjunct faculty member.
  • Maintain an active academic presence and contribute to teaching, scholarly or creative work, and service.
  • Interact with students professionally and help create a safe, productive learning environment.
  • Respond promptly to student questions, feedback requests, and concerns, including reaching out to inactive students.
  • Review course functionality and content to help ensure high-quality delivery of the course.
  • Provide timely feedback on assignments and synthesize student performance data.
  • Support academic integrity by teaching ethical conduct and reporting plagiarism or copyright issues.
  • Direct students to supplemental learning resources to strengthen their skills and abilities.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and college leadership, including attending required meetings.
  • Support the college’s mission, vision, culture, and community engagement efforts.

Requirements

  • Earned terminal degree in Leadership, Higher Education, Research, or Community College.
  • At least 1 year of teaching and leadership experience in a formal educational setting.
  • Experience with both traditional and non-traditional teaching formats, with higher education strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated success developing online or virtual professional relationships.
  • Evidence of professional research and/or creative endeavors and subject-matter expertise.
  • Strong communication, organization, and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision and collaborate with department personnel.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
  • Comfort working remotely and communicating in real time through online and electronic media.
  • Ability to meet minimum remote internet requirements of 50 Mbps download and 5 Mbps upload; candidates in Alaska, Washington D.C., Massachusetts, South Dakota, and Alabama cannot be considered.
