Description

  • Provide direct instruction and maintain a professional academic presence in online courses.
  • Facilitate a safe, productive learning environment for students.
  • Respond promptly to student questions, requests for clarification, and personal inquiries, and contact inactive students when needed.
  • Review course functionality and content to ensure high-quality course delivery.
  • Add personal experience, insights, and professional knowledge to enhance course content.
  • Monitor student assignments and provide feedback within college policies.
  • Track, synthesize, and report student performance data in a timely manner.
  • Support students, colleagues, and institutional policies through service to the department, college, and community.
  • Direct students to supplemental resources to strengthen their skills and abilities.
  • Participate in required meetings and promote the college’s mission, vision, and culture.
  • Pursue ongoing professional development and stay current on curriculum, industry trends, and emerging issues.

Requirements

  • Earned terminal degree in a field related to the department.
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in a leadership role leading others.
  • At least 3 peer-reviewed professional publications and presentations.
  • 1+ year of experience teaching and leading in a formal educational setting.
  • Experience with both traditional and non-traditional teaching formats, with higher education strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated success developing online or virtual professional relationships.
  • Evidence of professional research and/or creative endeavors and subject-matter expertise.
  • Must be comfortable working remotely and collaborating in a virtual environment.
  • Strong communication, organization, time management, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently, under pressure, and meet tight deadlines.
  • Candidates must not reside in Alaska, Washington D.C., Massachusetts, South Dakota, or Alabama.
