Description

  • Lead the design, integration, and functional testing of the Compute system.
  • Develop the Compute system in collaboration with cross-functional teams including Controls, Security, Hardware, UX, and software teams.
  • Lead the industrialization of Compute modules from design into high-volume manufacturing.
  • Act as the primary technical liaison between Product Development, Quality, and Purchasing teams throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Serve as the single point of contact for electrical issues within the Compute cluster and resolve critical concerns impacting vehicle development.
  • Drive the implementation of Design for Manufacturing strategies to improve manufacturability, cost, and product quality.
  • Support vehicle assembly lines during development phases and drive issue resolution to ensure smooth production ramp-up.
  • Develop and implement quality control measures and testing protocols for Compute modules.
  • Coordinate vehicle-level testing, debugging, data analysis, and cross-functional reviews.
  • Perform trade studies, requirements allocation, and interface definition studies to translate requirements into hardware and software specifications.
  • Report feature development progress and maturity at key program milestones.
  • Create release artifacts, diagrams, and documentation for cross-functional use.

Requirements

  • B.S. in Electrical, Computer, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 6+ years of experience with complex electrical systems or electronics design, focused on compute modules or high-performance embedded systems.
  • 5+ years of experience in a mass-production setting launching new products, specifically complex electronic modules.
  • Strong fundamentals in Electrical and Embedded Systems Engineering.
  • Proven experience applying Design for Manufacturing principles in automotive or high-volume industries.
  • Strong foundation in software systems design for networking and embedded areas, covering the full Software Development Life Cycle.
  • Proven debugging and diagnostic skills across electrical, mechanical, and software domains.
  • Experience with requirements management using industry-standard software platforms.
  • Excellent teamwork, problem-solving, communication, and project management skills.
  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
  • Hands-on experience building and launching automotive products and vehicle prototyping is preferred.
  • Experience with hardware development from concept through production launch in the automotive industry is preferred.
  • Experience with Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessment (HARA) is preferred.
  • Familiarity with managing Electrical Distribution System (EDS) complexity is preferred.
  • A systems-based approach to design and development with a drive for exceptional execution and continuous improvement is preferred.
