Description

  • Develop and execute flight software verification tests using satellite digital twin software and Hardware-in-the-Loop FlatSat environments.
  • Establish, document, and maintain test methodologies, test descriptions, and test plans to demonstrate compliance with customer requirements.
  • Develop and implement software and tools for ground support equipment used to test and validate flight software.
  • Oversee and conduct official validation tests across unit, module, subsystem, and platform levels.
  • Upgrade existing flight software for new missions and contribute to new satellite flight software development for U.S. satellite platforms.
  • Build in-house tools to analyze flight software performance and evaluate compatibility with new missions and concepts of operations.
  • Work with manufacturing engineers to support installation into HIL test environments and eventual flight hardware.
  • Participate in anomaly resolution activities and patch existing flight software as needed.
  • Support internal working groups and collaborate with customers and vendors.
  • Support proposal writing and new business efforts, including assessing software impacts from new hardware, missions, and concepts of operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in STEM or a related scientific field is required; a master’s degree in STEM or a related scientific field is preferred.
  • 9+ years of experience with a bachelor’s degree or 7+ years with a master’s degree.
  • Proven experience working with space hardware and/or flight software systems across the full lifecycle from conceptual design through operations.
  • Proficiency in C/C++.
  • Experience with one or more of the following: numerical simulators, emulators, hardware-in-the-loop testing, or functional validation of embedded software on hardware.
  • Experience with test scripting using TCL and/or Python.
  • Experience in embedded software development and testing, device driver development, real-time operating systems programming/debugging/testing, cybersecurity, software safety assurance, network topology/configuration, or software requirements and configuration management.
  • Experience with GNC algorithms design, analysis, testing, and implementation is preferred.
  • Insatiable curiosity and the ability to learn and work independently.
  • US citizenship is required; ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance is required, and active DoD Secret or higher clearance is highly desirable.
