Description

  • Lead the design, development, and implementation of manufacturing processes for power products from prototype through full-scale production.
  • Conduct process simulations, feasibility studies, and risk assessments to improve workflows, reduce cycle times, and increase OEE.
  • Apply DFM/DFA methods to identify manufacturability issues early and recommend design changes that improve assembly, cost, and quality.
  • Collaborate with design engineers to ensure new product designs are manufacturable and to provide feedback on materials, tolerances, and assembly methods.
  • Lead root cause analysis for production issues and implement corrective and preventive actions using tools such as FMEA and Six Sigma.
  • Develop and maintain process documentation, including SOPs, work instructions, and process flow diagrams.
  • Oversee selection, installation, and validation of manufacturing equipment and tooling for power electronics assembly.
  • Monitor production metrics to identify opportunities for process improvement, cost savings, and waste reduction.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and quality certifications such as ISO 9001 and UL.
  • Mentor junior engineers and production staff on manufacturing best practices and DFM/DFA.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field; master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience in manufacturing process design for power products such as UPS, DC power systems, or similar electronics.
  • Extensive expertise in DFM/DFA with demonstrated success reducing manufacturing costs and improving product reliability.
  • Strong knowledge of power electronics manufacturing, including PCB assembly, thermal management, component sourcing, and testing protocols.
  • Proficiency with CAD software such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD and simulation tools such as Arena or FlexSim.
  • Experience with lean manufacturing principles, Kaizen events, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP and manufacturing execution systems (MES).
  • Experience in high-volume production environments for power products in Asia-Pacific regions.
  • Proficient in executive communication and presentation.
  • Strong problem-solving, data analysis, communication, and teamwork skills in a multicultural, cross-functional environment.
