Description

  • Develop and execute flight software verification tests using proprietary digital twin software and Hardware-in-the-Loop FlatSat environments.
  • Establish and document test methodologies, compliance criteria, and test plans for customer requirements.
  • Develop software and tools for ground support equipment used to test and validate flight software.
  • Oversee official validation testing and contribute to unit-, module-, subsystem-, and platform-level verification and validation.
  • Upgrade existing flight software for new missions and contribute to new satellite flight software development.
  • Develop in-house tools to analyze flight software performance and evaluate compatibility with new missions and concepts of operations.
  • Support installation and integration of hardware into hardware-in-the-loop test environments and eventual flight hardware.
  • Participate in anomaly resolution activities and patch existing flight software as needed.
  • Support working groups with internal teams, customers, and vendors.
  • Support proposal writing and new business activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in STEM or a related scientific field; master's degree preferred.
  • 15+ years of experience with a bachelor's degree, or 12+ years with a master's degree.
  • Proven track record working with space hardware and/or flight software systems across the full lifecycle from concept through operations.
  • US citizenship is required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.
  • Active DoD Secret clearance or higher is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in C/C++.
  • Experience with one or more of the following: embedded software development and testing, test scripting (TCL/Python), device driver development, real-time operating systems, cybersecurity, GNC algorithms, functional validation on hardware, software safety assurance, network topology/configuration, simulators, or software requirements/configuration management.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and work independently.
  • Periodic travel of less than 20% within the U.S. and occasional international travel is required.
