Description

  • Own and execute the transformation layer for the data platform.
  • Design, build, and maintain scalable data models using dbt and SQL.
  • Establish and enforce best practices for data modeling, testing, monitoring, and discoverability.
  • Work with finance, operations, customer success, marketing, data science, and business users to define requirements and deliver data products.
  • Create repeatable integrations between data models, BI tools, and reverse ETL systems.
  • Maintain high standards for development, including change management, source control, code reviews, and monitoring.
  • Improve data warehouse performance and ETL efficiency.
  • Support near-real-time operational metrics and monthly financial reporting.
  • Ensure data quality and cent-level precision across reporting and models.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in analytics engineering or data engineering with a focus on transformation in ELT.
  • Proven experience owning data products end-to-end with strong data quality and scalability practices.
  • Comfort working with ambiguity and collaborating with stakeholders to define requirements.
  • Ability to take ownership with minimal oversight in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience proactively improving data warehouse performance and ETL efficiency.
  • Expert-level SQL and dbt skills.
  • Proficiency in Python for transformations beyond SQL.
  • Hands-on experience with query optimization across OLTP and OLAP systems such as Postgres and Iceberg.
  • Experience with semantic layer modeling such as Cube or dbt Semantic Layer.
  • Experience owning CI/CD workflows and team-wide standards for version control and code review, such as Git.
  • Familiarity with cloud environments such as GCP or AWS.
  • Experience with data ingestion tools such as Airbyte and orchestration tools such as Airflow (nice to have).
  • Domain experience in brokerage operations or interest in financial markets and modeling financial datasets (nice to have).
