Description

  • Lead operational planning and translate strategic direction into measurable short- and long-term departmental goals.
  • Oversee the delivery of full-service clinical trials, including project development, trial conduct, resource allocation, safety requirements, and data confidentiality.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, performance management, and workforce planning for Clinical Project Operations managers, staff, and contractors.
  • Ensure adequate project staffing, maintain utilization targets, and resolve operational issues affecting project teams.
  • Represent project operations in sponsor and client meetings, investigator meetings, bid defenses, scientific conferences, and business-development activities.
  • Develop and improve policies, processes, quality standards, and compliance monitoring to meet corporate, industry, and regulatory requirements.
  • Partner with senior leadership on departmental budgets, annual operational reviews, financial reporting, and risk management.
  • Support proposals, budgets, statements of work, and change orders, ensuring project costs align with work performed.
  • Drive service excellence and implement improvements that reduce organizational risk and strengthen clinical research delivery.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Honors Bachelor’s degree plus at least 10 years of related experience and ongoing professional development, or a college diploma/degree plus at least 15 years of related experience.
  • Deep CRO industry experience leading full-service clinical project management teams.
  • Demonstrated experience coaching and leading teams with a focus on operational excellence.
  • Phase II clinical trial experience is required.
  • Phase III clinical trial experience is highly desirable.
  • Gastrointestinal clinical trial project-management experience is highly desirable.
  • Significant financial resource-management experience, including budget setting, expenditure or revenue decisions, reconciliation, reporting, and financial risk management.
  • Experience managing staffing, resource allocation, utilization, and performance across project teams.
  • Knowledge of clinical-trial regulatory requirements, industry standards, and quality-compliance practices.
