Description

  • Architect, design, and develop new versions of the InstantSearch platform, including open-source libraries and backend APIs.
  • Design and implement features that leverage agentic patterns within the Algolia platform and open-source libraries.
  • Implement new features, fix bugs, and analyze user feedback on open-source projects.
  • Coordinate with product, design, and marketing teams on the release of new projects and websites.
  • Take ownership of research, exploration, and delivery of novel experiences.
  • Participate in other open-source projects related to the team’s needs.
  • Serve as a technical mentor and help the team grow.
  • Help define engineering best practices and internal processes.

Requirements

  • Demonstrable proficiency with the latest agentic experience design and development patterns, plus relevant SDKs.
  • Deep understanding of building, integrating, and optimizing user interfaces using autonomous agents, LLMs, and AI-driven workflows.
  • Strong knowledge of JavaScript, TypeScript, and the frontend web ecosystem, including DOM, frameworks, library crafting, and bundlers.
  • Experience creating at least one reusable module, either private or open source.
  • An eye for great user experiences (UX).
  • Willingness to help, teach, and mentor colleagues inside and outside the team.
  • Experience working in a high-growth company at a $50–300M ARR stage or beyond.
  • Familiarity with modern frontend frameworks such as Vue.js and React is relevant to the team’s stack.
  • Experience with open-source software development is preferred.
  • Background with backend technologies used by the team, such as TypeScript, Go, or Python, is a plus.
