Description

  • Architect and manage high-performance, distributed data platforms for healthcare analytics.
  • Ensure Databricks Lakehouse and Snowflake environments scale reliably and efficiently.
  • Own the health, optimization, and security of data platforms.
  • Develop and implement scalable, performant data solutions.
  • Partner with Engineering Managers, Product Managers, and stakeholders to define and execute technical roadmaps.
  • Work within Agile processes to deliver platform initiatives.
  • Mentor and coach junior engineers through guidance and thorough pull request reviews.
  • Provide and receive constructive technical feedback as part of the engineering team.
  • Design and optimize data ingestion and ETL/ELT pipelines, including batch and streaming workloads.
  • Monitor performance and tune queries to improve reliability and cost efficiency.

Requirements

  • BS/BTech or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 6+ years of experience building and optimizing highly scalable distributed data systems such as Databricks, Spark, or Snowflake.
  • 3+ years of experience working with SQL and data modeling on large multi-table data sets.
  • 3+ years of experience acting as a trusted technical decision-maker in a team setting.
  • 3+ years of experience coaching other engineers.
  • Deep expertise in managing Databricks workspaces, including Unity Catalog for governance, lineage, and fine-grained access control.
  • Advanced proficiency with Terraform or similar infrastructure-as-code tools to automate Databricks, cloud, and networking provisioning.
  • AWS experience preferred for cloud infrastructure and scaling.
  • Experience managing Snowflake environments, including warehouse cost optimization, security integration, and secure data sharing is preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of distributed systems concepts such as partitioning, liquid clustering/Z-Ordering, sharding, and high availability at petabyte scale.
  • Experience building CI/CD pipelines for data infrastructure and deploying services with Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience building systems that handle protected information with HIPAA and SOX compliance.
  • Experience with healthcare data domains such as EHR, HL7/FHIR, and claims data is preferred.
