Description

  • Envision, champion, and support the development of novel machine learning systems, product integrations, and performance optimizations to solve real-world problems.
  • Work cross-functionally with product, design, and engineering teams to design and build AI solutions for Airbnb customer support products.
  • Develop and enhance AI models, ML services, and tools for CSxAI initiatives.
  • Build and leverage cutting-edge AI technologies to improve customer service experiences from concept through production.
  • Lead work on LLM fine-tuning and optimization, retrieval-augmented generation and search, LLM evaluation and testing automation, feedback-based learning, and guardrails.
  • Learn about and share the latest AI and ML technologies with the team.
  • Own large-scale ML systems and contribute to their reliability, scalability, and effectiveness.

Requirements

  • PhD or Master’s degree, preferably in Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
  • 9+ years of machine learning engineering experience.
  • Experience owning large-scale software systems.
  • Background in the design and development of AI and ML systems and services.
  • Strong interest in building efficient and scalable ML-powered products.
  • Experience with LLM-driven chatbot and Agentic AI products is a big plus.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work well within a team and across engineering, product, and design organizations.
  • Must live in a state where Airbnb, Inc. has a registered entity to be eligible for this remote role.
  • Ability to occasionally work from an Airbnb office or attend offsites, as agreed with a manager.

Benefits

  • Base salary range of $212,000 to $260,000 USD.
  • Eligible for bonus.
