Description

  • Design and implement AI agents that support the testing lifecycle, including test case generation, test evolution, automation, and coverage maintenance.
  • Build AI-native quality systems that adapt test coverage based on code changes and system behavior.
  • Identify bottlenecks in testing and CI/CD workflows and solve them with intelligent automation.
  • Integrate AI capabilities into developer and quality engineering workflows to provide contextual, actionable insights.
  • Build end-to-end tools and services for Airbnb’s AI quality platform across services, developer tooling, and UI surfaces.
  • Develop applied AI features such as agentic E2E validation, quality gates, exploratory testing, and test coverage maintenance systems.
  • Participate in the design of scalable AI-driven systems for large-scale engineering environments.
  • Work closely with Mobile, Infrastructure, Product Engineering, and Quality Engineering teams.
  • Experiment with approaches such as prompt engineering and RAG to improve system effectiveness and adaptability.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to help raise the team’s AI engineering bar.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of software engineering experience in high-scale environments.
  • Experience building platforms, infrastructure, or developer/quality tooling.
  • Exposure to or strong interest in AI/ML or LLM-based systems.
  • Experience with testing frameworks, CI/CD pipelines, developer experience tooling, or quality engineering platforms.
  • Hands-on experience building applications using LLMs, including prompting, APIs, RAG, or evaluation, is a strong plus.
  • Experience building both client-side and server-side systems.
  • Ability to work with modern web and mobile stacks, including Swift and Kotlin.
  • Experience with backend services in Java and Python.
  • Understanding of distributed systems, CI/CD workflows, and large-scale software architectures.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to design practical, scalable solutions in ambiguous situations.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams.
