Description

  • Own the finance accounting platform strategy, roadmap, and day-to-day prioritization across competing requests.
  • Lead end-to-end delivery of accounting solutions for new and evolving Airbnb products, from impact assessment through production normalization.
  • Partner with Product, Platform, Finance, Data Engineering, and Oracle Applications teams to design and implement platform workflows.
  • Translate complex product and business changes into accounting workflows that record financial events to Oracle FAH GL.
  • Support month-end close processes and improve the accuracy, timeliness, and reliability of financial data.
  • Define and refine data pipeline monitoring controls, reconciliations, alerting, and other financial integrity checks.
  • Analyze ad hoc data and support Finance and FP&A teams on close questions and business cases using SQL.
  • Drive automation of manual operational workflows with Finance stakeholders such as Treasury and Collections.
  • Run UAT and coordinate releases to validate financial lifecycle recording before production launch.
  • Communicate platform updates and tradeoffs clearly to senior Finance stakeholders.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience in platform management, product management, or technical program management with a finance and accounting data focus.
  • Subject matter expertise in accounting principles and ASC 606 revenue recognition.
  • Experience implementing end-to-end accounting workflows across quote-to-cash cycles, including reporting and reconciliation.
  • Hands-on experience supporting B2C product workflows on finance platforms, preferably at a high-growth, high-transaction-volume technology company.
  • Strong SQL skills and experience working with large, complex datasets.
  • Deep understanding of distributed data processing, batch and streaming pipelines, data partitioning, and data lake/warehouse architectures.
  • Knowledge of transactional data characteristics, including ACID properties, audit trails, multi-currency handling, and period-end cutoff logic.
  • Familiarity with subledger to General Ledger data flows and validation across the chain.
  • Experience with or alongside Oracle FAH, General Ledger, or equivalent ERP platforms.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Accounting, Finance, or a related technical field.

Benefits

  • Occasional work at an Airbnb office or attendance at offsites may be required.
  • Base pay range of $179,000 to $207,000 USD.
