Description

  • Lead analytical projects that improve how Metabase measures and understands its business.
  • Establish authoritative definitions for key metrics, including ARR, and investigate changes in business performance.
  • Evaluate sales and marketing funnel health and analyze relationships between product initiatives, expansion, and churn.
  • Own a finance operations domain such as Accounting or Tax, including operational execution and oversight of external specialists.
  • Automate workflows to reduce manual effort and strengthen operational and compliance processes.
  • Assess the overall health and reliability of the finance operations area.
  • Lead cross-functional projects addressing operational problems.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of experience, preferably in a high-growth startup.
  • Strong quantitative undergraduate degree; MBA preferred.
  • Based in the United States, Canada, or United Kingdom.
  • Strong analytical abilities across financial modeling, intermediate statistics, vendor methodology review, and raw-data transformation.
  • SQL experience strongly preferred; analytics engineering experience is a plus.
  • Ability to think in systems, build reliable processes, and automate repetitive work.
  • Ability to learn unfamiliar domains quickly, including accounting principles; accounting familiarity or coursework is a plus.
  • Experience using AI to improve efficiency while understanding its limitations.
  • Vendor management, organizational, attention-to-detail, and multitasking skills.
  • Low-ego approach and willingness to handle responsibilities of varying scope.
