Description

  • Collaborate with technical teams to identify and manage company-wide privacy and responsible-use risks.
  • Support stakeholders in developing and executing initiatives that address privacy and technology risks.
  • Lead the definition and implementation of company-wide standards, practices, and patterns for protecting personal data.
  • Work with Legal, Data Science, Data Governance, and InfoSec to embed Privacy by Design into products and infrastructure.
  • Leverage privacy-enhancing technologies such as cryptography and anonymization to protect personal data.
  • Create privacy training for technical roles, including data engineers, developers, and data scientists.
  • Translate legal and regulatory requirements into technical requirements and practical guidelines.
  • Lead high-impact, cross-functional projects and drive alignment across engineering, legal, and executive stakeholders.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of total experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in technical program/project management or privacy engineering focused on building technology products and/or systems.
  • Deep understanding of large-scale data stores and big data technologies.
  • Experience working with data governance/management teams on data annotations, lineage, ACLs, automation, and data quality improvements at scale.
  • Strong familiarity with the AI/ML development lifecycle, including data collection, model selection, training, testing, A/B testing, and deployment.
  • Solid understanding of large language models, generative AI, and AI agents, including responsible-use and compliance challenges.
  • Strong familiarity with privacy-enhancing technologies, including encryption, de-identification methods such as k-anonymity and differential privacy, and interpretability techniques such as SHAP and LIME.
  • Hands-on experience applying privacy frameworks and understanding major regulations such as GDPR and CCPA.
  • Preferred: 7+ years of experience in privacy, trust & safety, compliance, security operations, or technical program management, ideally at a global B2C technology company.
  • Preferred: Professional certifications such as CIPP, CIPM, or AIGP.
  • Preferred: BA/BS or advanced degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics, statistics, physics, or a related field.
  • Preferred: Experience with AI-related tools and languages such as R, Python, and GitHub.
  • US remote eligible, with occasional work at an Airbnb office or offsites and residency in a state where Airbnb, Inc. has a registered entity.

Benefits

  • Base salary range of $212,000 to $265,000 USD.
  • Potential eligibility for bonus.
  • Potential eligibility for equity.
