Description

  • Lead a dispersed team (~8 advanced analysts) to design, deliver, and scale analytics for safety (physical & digital), connected-account and circumvention detection, and privacy risk management.
  • Own end-to-end analytical workflows including data ingestion, feature engineering, modeling, experimentation, and visualization.
  • Co-own and drive the enterprise-wide “Safety Single Source of Truth” (SSoT) strategy: define and maintain a unified, structured data asset and taxonomy that underpins decision-making.
  • Build self-service data tools that empower non-technical teams to run “what if” analyses, generate actionable outcomes, and reduce gatekeeping.
  • Craft compelling narratives and dashboards to surface insights for executives and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Lead incident “war rooms,” providing fast, actionable insights during high-severity events and supporting rapid escalation.
  • Contribute to policy design (e.g., connected-accounts enforcement thresholds) and operationalize frameworks to size platform, reputational, and regulatory impact of safety incidents.
  • Support external audits, law-enforcement requests, and board-level reporting related to safety and risk metrics.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Policy, Product, Engineering, Fraud & Safety Ops, and Legal to align analytics with global safety and privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in analytics, risk, or safety, with 3+ years leading high-performing teams.
  • Proven ownership of large-scale data products or taxonomies in a regulated environment.
  • Strong SQL and data-modeling expertise, plus experience with experimentation design and familiarity with Python or R.
  • Working knowledge of ML pipelines and production analytics systems.
  • Deep understanding of measuring rare platform events with statistical rigor.
  • Knowledge of user authentication and connected-account vectors (e.g., social logins, device fingerprinting) and circumvention tactics (e.g., multi-accounting, listing duplication, payment abuse).
  • Familiarity with global privacy and data-protection standards (GDPR, CCPA, SOC 2, etc.).
  • Skilled in incident impact scoping, post-incident analytics, scenario planning, and conducting tabletop exercises to translate insights into systematic improvements.
  • Track record enabling legal, policy, ops, product, and engineering teams to make independent, data-driven decisions via self-service tooling.
  • Nice to have: prior experience in marketplace, fintech, or travel/hospitality tech; familiarity with real-time decision engines, graph analytics, anomaly-detection frameworks; experience leading hybrid teams and managing third-party analytics vendors; advanced quantitative degree (MS/PhD).
  • Location eligibility: must live in a U.S. state where Airbnb, Inc. has a registered entity (role is US - Remote Eligible).

Benefits

  • Base pay range: $212,000–$265,000 USD.
  • Role may be eligible for bonus, equity, and standard employee benefits.

  • US remote-eligible role with occasional work at an Airbnb office or attendance at offsites as agreed with manager.
