Description

  • Generate payment reports and analyze payment data to assess performance and identify insights.
  • Provide regular updates and business-friendly recommendations to management and stakeholders.
  • Analyze payment health, triage issues, and recommend solutions and optimizations.
  • Design, execute, and analyze experiments to evaluate payment strategies, product changes, and process improvements.
  • Collaborate on financial risk management, including losses, chargebacks, and payment process automation.
  • Identify friction points across the end-to-end payments journey and recommend improvements.
  • Build new payment strategies for different seller segments using advanced analytics and AI/ML-informed decision-making.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to improve payments data, processes, and infrastructure globally.
  • Monitor payment trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes to identify opportunities for innovation.
  • Support reliable payments operations and contribute to the financial health of the business.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of industry experience in business analytics.
  • Master’s or PhD in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Econometrics, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Data Science, or Operations Research is a plus.
  • Experience supporting payments teams or working closely with payments organizations.
  • Exposure to payment risk domains such as trust and safety, identity verification, fraud prevention, chargebacks, regulatory compliance, and financial risk management.
  • Expert-level SQL skills.
  • Expert-level proficiency in at least one programming language for data analysis, such as Python or R.
  • Experience with non-experimental causal inference methods, experimentation, and machine learning techniques, ideally in a multi-sided platform setting.
  • Working knowledge of schema design, high-dimensional data modeling, and ETL frameworks such as Airflow.
  • Exceptional communication and storytelling skills for translating technical work into actionable insights for senior leadership.
  • Ability to work effectively in ambiguous, fast-growth, and complex environments with minimal supervision.
  • US remote eligible, with occasional work from an Airbnb office or offsites and residence in a state where Airbnb, Inc. has a registered entity.

Benefits

  • Base salary range of $164,000 to $191,000 USD.
  • Eligible for bonus.
