Description

  • Lead the Segmentation and Insights Platform teams and set the technical direction for both platforms.
  • Own roadmap execution and partner with the Product Manager to sequence priorities.
  • Run weekly planning, roadmap reviews, and cross-team syncs to keep delivery on track.
  • Coach engineers through 1:1s focused on growth, skill development, and removing blockers.
  • Serve as the primary engineering DRI for cross-team dependencies and prioritization decisions.
  • Drive technical strategy for the Insights Intelligence Engine and related AI/ML analytics capabilities.
  • Oversee the design, delivery, and operational health of production agentic systems at Airbnb scale.
  • Champion AI-native engineering practices across coding, review, CI/CD, on-call, and data quality workflows.
  • Own operational maturity areas including on-call, incident retrospectives, SLOs, and runbooks.
  • Represent the platforms in org-wide planning cycles and contribute to broader Marketing Technology strategy.

Requirements

  • 9+ years of software engineering experience, including 4+ years in an engineering management role leading platform or infrastructure teams.
  • Experience managing engineers across multiple seniority levels, including early-career engineers.
  • Strong technical foundation in distributed data systems, backend infrastructure, or marketing/ad technology platforms.
  • Experience owning cross-team platform relationships, including dependency management and priority negotiation.
  • Track record of delivering complex, multi-quarter technical roadmaps in fast-moving environments.
  • Fluency in data-driven engineering practices, including data pipelines, analytics infrastructure, observability, and operational excellence.
  • Experience with audience segmentation, targeting systems, or marketing data infrastructure at scale (preferred).
  • Familiarity with ML/AI-powered analytics systems or managing engineers on applied ML workstreams (preferred).
  • Hands-on familiarity with agent frameworks and orchestration tooling such as LangGraph, CrewAI, Autogen, or similar (preferred).
  • Experience managing on-call rotations and production services with external SLAs (preferred).
  • Comfort working across engineering, data science, and analytics engineering disciplines (preferred).
  • Experience integrating AI-assisted development practices into team workflows and promoting adoption (preferred).

Benefits

  • Base salary range of $212,000 to $265,000 USD.
  • Eligible for bonus compensation.

  • Occasional onsite gatherings, typically 2–4 times per year.
