Description

  • Build and lead the Data Platform Team across platform engineering, data governance, data product delivery, and event infrastructure.
  • Own the target-state Snowflake architecture, including data organization, storage patterns, workload segmentation, performance, security, and lifecycle management.
  • Lead enterprise data governance, including ownership, stewardship, quality, metadata, lineage, cataloging, retention, classification, and policy enforcement.
  • Define and enforce platform access, authentication, and authorization models for users, applications, AI agents, and integration pipelines.
  • Own the catalog of domain connections and the self-service model for discovering, requesting, and approving access.
  • Establish platform cost governance for Snowflake and the broader data estate, including budgeting, visibility, showback/chargeback, and optimization.
  • Own ingestion standards and patterns across batch, CDC, streaming, and event-driven sources.
  • Own the Bronze/Silver/Gold medallion processing model and its transformation, testing, and reconciliation standards.
  • Own the end-to-end data product publishing lifecycle, including intake, review, publication, change control, retirement, and documentation.
  • Own the event streaming and messaging infrastructure that supports governed domain-event consumption and integration-pipeline workflows.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • 12+ years of experience in data engineering, platform engineering, data architecture, or related technology roles.
  • 5+ years in a leadership role with responsibility for platform strategy, architecture, and engineering team leadership, including building a team or function from scratch.
  • Demonstrated experience architecting and operating modern enterprise data platforms in cloud environments.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Snowflake, including platform design, performance optimization, security, workload management, and FinOps.
  • Experience designing and running data governance programs.
  • Experience designing data access and authorization models, including role-based, application-based, and AI-agent access patterns.
  • Experience with batch, CDC, and streaming ingestion patterns and medallion-style (Bronze/Silver/Gold) architectures.
  • Experience with event streaming and messaging tools such as Kafka, MuleSoft, or equivalent.
  • Experience building data product publishing programs, self-service consumption models, and platforms that support AI, automation, or agent-based workflows.
