Description

  • Own the architecture of critical cloud service domains, including design integrity, scalability, reliability, security, and technical debt management.
  • Define service boundaries, APIs, data contracts, and integration patterns that support independent cloud service evolution.
  • Lead planning and execution of cloud architecture improvements that improve scalability, availability, performance, and operational efficiency.
  • Translate architectural vision into mid- and long-term technical roadmaps that balance delivery, sustainability, and cost optimization.
  • Partner with CloudOps teams to define reliability targets, disaster recovery strategies, and operational readiness standards.
  • Champion cloud-native engineering practices such as infrastructure-as-code, automated testing, continuous delivery, and observability-by-default.
  • Lead adoption of AI-assisted development for service development, infrastructure definition, testing, troubleshooting, and refactoring.
  • Drive improvements to developer experience, including local development, CI/CD pipelines, deployment workflows, and operational tooling.
  • Mentor senior and mid-level engineers and act as a technical multiplier across teams.
  • Communicate cloud architecture decisions, risks, and trade-offs to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s and/or master’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Software, Electrical, or Electronics Engineering, or a comparable field.
  • 10+ years of professional software engineering experience, including 2+ years at staff level.
  • Strong proficiency in Python, with working experience in Java.
  • Deep experience designing, building, and operating scalable enterprise-grade applications on AWS.
  • Demonstrated experience owning and evolving architecture for complex, distributed, long-lived cloud platforms.
  • Proven ability to lead service refactoring, software architecture modernization, and platform evolution initiatives while maintaining delivery velocity.
  • Strong experience with infrastructure-as-code and automation tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
  • Experience designing and evolving CI/CD pipelines for cloud services.
  • Strong understanding of observability, including logging, metrics, tracing, and alerting in distributed systems.
  • Proficiency with AI-assisted development processes and tools.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, especially around architecture, risk, reliability, and long-term technical strategy.
