Description

  • Own engineering outcomes for Astra, Contract Intelligence Graph, AI Agents, and supporting APIs, integrations, and orchestration services.
  • Define the architecture and convergence roadmap for shared data models, database services, IAM, AI Assistant capabilities, and unified APIs, UIs, and MCP servers.
  • Partner with Product, Design, Applied AI & Knowledge Engineering, and other teams to translate customer priorities into integrated technical roadmaps and investment plans.
  • Establish secure, scalable, tenant-aware, observable, versioned, and backward-compatible cloud-native services and integrations.
  • Guide production delivery of AI Agents and AI Assistants, including guardrails for quality, privacy, permissions, latency, cost, and external-system integrations.
  • Own the software development lifecycle, including planning, development, testing, releases, post-release stabilization, and cross-team dependency management.
  • Track and improve operational performance through measures such as availability, API latency, error rates, integration reliability, and incident recurrence.
  • Lead root-cause analysis and remediation for significant incidents and Level 3 technical escalations.
  • Lead, coach, recruit, and develop managers, technical leaders, and distributed engineering teams.
  • Contribute hands-on to code, code reviews, and architecture decisions while communicating technical tradeoffs, risks, and investment needs.

Requirements

  • BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10+ years of progressive software engineering experience, including 5+ years leading multi-team engineering organizations with managers and senior technical leaders.
  • Experience owning engineering outcomes for a substantial product portfolio, platform, or technical domain measured by adoption, usage, and business value.
  • Deep experience with cloud-based SaaS, distributed services, APIs, enterprise integrations, and user-facing applications.
  • Experience building shared components across multiple products or services, including data models, database services, IAM, interfaces, and ownership boundaries.
  • Hands-on experience with production AI/LLM capabilities, Agents, and AI Assistants, including quality, privacy, reliability, and cost evaluation.
  • Strong understanding of delivery predictability, service reliability and SLOs, defect trends, performance, and operational health.
  • Experience partnering with Product and Design to build executable roadmaps and make build, buy, or partner decisions.
  • Ability to communicate technical risks, tradeoffs, and decisions clearly to executives and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Experience developing engineering managers and technical leaders through coaching, performance management, succession planning, and career development.
  • Experience with AI-enabled products, Agent architectures, or MCP orchestration interfaces (preferred).
  • Experience with knowledge graphs, CLM, legal technology, workflow automation, enterprise SaaS, or compliance-driven environments (preferred).
