Description

  • Collaborate with robot software, hardware, and operations teams to define, collect, and curate data for analytics and debugging.
  • Develop and maintain ETL pipelines that transform robot logs and telemetry into structured datasets.
  • Design data transformations and cloud ingestion and processing pipelines using Spark, orchestration tools, and AWS data services.
  • Own gold-layer datasets for fleet dashboards, reliability models, and business metrics, including freshness SLAs, documentation, and monitoring.
  • Implement data-quality checks, schema evolution, and metadata-management practices.
  • Partner with reliability, analytics, and ML teams to design efficient data models for their workflows.
  • Contribute to Python, Java, or C++ shared libraries and APIs supporting data capture and consumption.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role building and maintaining production data pipelines.
  • Strong proficiency with Apache Spark or a comparable distributed data-processing framework.
  • Programming experience with Python, Java, and/or Scala.
  • Experience with Airflow, Dagster, Prefect, or similar data-orchestration systems.
  • Proficiency with Avro, Parquet, and structured or numeric datasets.
  • Familiarity with table formats such as Apache Iceberg or Delta Lake and medallion architecture.
  • Understanding of data modeling, schema evolution, data quality, logical modeling, and physical partitioning for query performance.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with software, hardware, and analytics teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with immutable or versioned dataset design, vision-data pipelines, data catalogs, or metadata management (preferred).
  • Familiarity with C++ and willingness to support logging or data-serialization libraries (preferred).

  • Anticipated base salary of $175,000–$274,000 USD, plus eligible annual discretionary bonus.
