Description

Set technical strategy for the team on a year-long time horizon and align it with business-impacting projects.
Collaborate with product management, design, and analytics throughout the product development lifecycle.
Define technical solutions and operational processes that improve team effectiveness and execution.
Own team operations and availability, including monitoring, triage rotations, playbooks, policies, testing, and alerting.
Establish code review and design standards that promote quality and ownership.
Advocate for engineering standards and technical approaches through writing and tech talks.
Mentor and develop engineers through feedback, guidance, and leading by example.
Support on-call responsibilities and keep-the-lights-on operational work.

Requirements

8+ years of experience as a software engineer.
Experience designing, developing, and launching backend systems at scale.
Proficiency with technologies such as Python, Kotlin, AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes.
Experience developing web applications with declarative UI frameworks such as React, React Native, or Vue.
Experience delivering major features, system components, or deprecating existing functionality through a technical and execution plan.
Ability to write high-quality code that is easily understood and used by others.
Comfort working in ambiguity and moving between low-level implementation details and large-scale system architecture.
Strong verbal and written communication skills for collaboration with a global engineering team.
On-call rotation is required for this role.
Experience gathering and iterating on feedback from engineering and cross-functional peers is preferred.

Base pay range of €101,000 to €131,000 per year.
