Description

  • Set technical strategy for the team on a year-long horizon and align it with major business-impacting projects.
  • Collaborate with product management, design, and analytics throughout the product development lifecycle.
  • Identify and manage technical sustainability risks and trade-offs across teams.
  • Define technical solutions and operational processes that help the team execute more effectively.
  • Own team operations and service availability, including monitoring, triage, on-call support, playbooks, policies, testing, and alerting.
  • Set code review and design standards and promote a culture of quality and ownership.
  • Advocate for engineering practices beyond the team through writing and tech talks.
  • Provide feedback, guidance, and leadership to help develop team talent.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience designing, developing, and launching backend systems at scale.
  • Experience using languages such as Python or Kotlin.
  • Strong background building highly available distributed systems with AWS, MySQL, Spark, and Kubernetes.
  • Experience in financial systems, ledgering, treasury, or similar domains where accuracy and reliability are critical.
  • Experience delivering major features, system components, or deprecating functionality through technical and execution planning.
  • Ability to write high-quality code that is easy for others to understand and use.
  • Comfort working through ambiguity and moving between language-level details and large-scale architecture.
  • Demonstrated ability to gather and iterate on feedback from engineering and cross-functional peers.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Equivalent practical experience or a Bachelor’s degree in a related field is required.
