Description

  • Build and own dbt models for the financial subledger platform, including staging, intermediate, canonical facts/balances, marts, and semantic layers.
  • Implement data quality controls in dbt, including tests, freshness checks, anomaly detection, and automated reconciliations.
  • Embed AI-assisted reconciliation capabilities to automate variance triage, suggest root causes, and generate reviewable narratives and evidence.
  • Own subledger data products with traceability from source events through transformations to reporting outputs.
  • Partner with Accounting and Financial Reporting to translate business requirements into clear model specifications and durable dbt assets.
  • Drive production operational ownership, including monitoring, alerting, incident response, root-cause fixes, and release hygiene.
  • Collaborate with upstream engineering teams to define inputs and improve source data quality through contracts and change management.
  • Coach and develop one Analytics Engineer through code review, pairing, scoped ownership, and technical direction.

Requirements

  • Deep hands-on analytics engineering experience building and maintaining production dbt projects, including models, tests, macros, documentation, and CI.
  • Strong SQL and data modeling skills, with experience building canonical datasets for finance reporting, reconciliations, or other correctness-critical outcomes.
  • Experience operating data pipelines in a warehouse environment, with Snowflake preferred.
  • Strong programming skills in Python preferred for data tooling and automation.
  • Deep Snowflake expertise, including architecture patterns, query optimization, RBAC, masking policies, monitoring, cost management, and reliability.
  • Strong ownership mindset and ability to lead ambiguous work through influence across Finance, Accounting, and Engineering stakeholders.
  • Experience with accounting concepts such as subledgers, journal entries, posting logic, balance rollforwards, tie-outs, and close processes, preferred.
  • Experience designing SOX-friendly controls and producing repeatable evidence from data pipelines, preferred.
  • Experience applying AI/LLMs to data quality or reconciliation workflows with governance and human-in-the-loop review, preferred.
  • AWS experience, including S3, IAM, data platform primitives, and cloud architecture concepts, preferred.
