Description

  • Break down larger engineering projects into smaller tasks and deliver them in phased milestones.
  • Collaborate with product management, design, and analytics throughout the product development lifecycle.
  • Participate in ideation and help evaluate technical constraints, risks, and trade-offs for product decisions.
  • Support the development, monitoring, and availability of team-owned services and artifacts.
  • Create and monitor operational metrics and escalate issues when needed.
  • Participate in on-call and “keep the lights on” operational support.
  • Contribute to team growth and development through activities such as interview participation.
  • Build and launch backend systems and APIs used by partners and merchants.
  • Write clear, well-tested, extensible code that works across multiple software components.
  • Review code, debug existing systems, and help navigate a large codebase.

Requirements

  • 1.5+ years of experience as a software engineer.
  • Experience designing, developing, and launching backend systems.
  • Proficiency in Python or Kotlin.
  • Experience designing, developing, and launching APIs at scale.
  • Familiarity with distributed systems and technologies such as AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes.
  • Ability to turn simple business problems into solutions across multiple software components.
  • Comfort navigating a large codebase, debugging others’ code, and providing code review feedback.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for collaboration with a global engineering team.
  • Equivalent practical experience or a Bachelor’s degree in a related field is required.
