Description

  • Break down larger projects into smaller tasks and deliver work in phased increments.
  • Collaborate with product management, design, and analytics during ideation and product development.
  • Partner on technical decisions by articulating constraints, risks, and trade-offs.
  • Support the operations and availability of team services by creating and monitoring metrics and escalating issues when needed.
  • Help maintain the reliability of critical production systems and support "keep the lights on" work.
  • Participate in the interview process and contribute to team growth and development activities.
  • Work in an on-call rotation to support the service.
  • Build and support backend platform components that serve merchant data and identity use cases.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience as a software engineer.
  • Experience designing, developing, and launching backend systems.
  • Proficiency in Python or Kotlin.
  • Familiarity with distributed systems concepts.
  • Experience with AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes.
  • Ability to turn business problems into solutions spanning multiple software components.
  • Ability to write clear, well-tested, extensible code.
  • Comfort navigating a large codebase, debugging others' code, and giving code review feedback.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for collaboration with a global engineering team.
  • Based in Spain and able to work remotely from Spain; visa sponsorship is available for this role.
