Description

  • Contribute to the team's projects and goals with guidance from the team.
  • Collaborate proactively with team members and stakeholders to create visibility into work, risks, and trade-offs.
  • Balance speed and quality to meet business goals while protecting systems from downtime.
  • Contribute to team community through growth and development activities.
  • Help build and operate the repayment scheduling system at scale.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation.
  • Work across a fully European distributed team with overlapping working hours.

Requirements

  • Previous work or internship experience designing, developing, and launching backend systems at scale.
  • Experience using Python or Kotlin.
  • Familiarity with distributed systems and technologies such as AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes.
  • Ability to turn a simple problem or business scenario into a solution involving multiple software components.
  • Ability to write clear, well-tested, and extensible code.
  • Comfort navigating a large codebase, debugging other engineers' code, and providing feedback through code reviews.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for collaboration with a global engineering team.
  • Ownership mindset with a proactive approach to seeking feedback and growing skills.
  • Must be based in Spain.
  • Visa sponsorship is available for this role.
  • Experience with backend development in a scaled environment (preferred).
