Description

  • Own and deliver quarterly team goals while guiding engineers through ambiguity and open-ended problems.
  • Collaborate with product management, design, and analytics throughout the product development lifecycle.
  • Define technical constraints, risks, and trade-offs to support product decisions.
  • Own team operations and availability, including monitoring, triage, playbooks, policies, testing, and alerting.
  • Support on-call and “keep the lights on” efforts by creating and monitoring metrics and escalating issues when needed.
  • Identify and lead solutions for project, process, technology, and business issues.
  • Set and improve code review and design standards, and advocate for them through writing and tech talks.
  • Mentor and develop team members by providing feedback, guidance, and leading by example.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience as a software engineer.
  • Experience leading significant mobile initiatives using React Native or native development.
  • Experience defining mobile architecture and coordinating cross-functional launches.
  • Experience working across React Native and native boundaries such as Swift and Kotlin.
  • Experience debugging platform-specific issues and improving mobile developer tooling, CI/CD, and release processes.
  • Experience implementing experimentation, feature flagging, and analytics instrumentation in mobile apps.
  • Experience shipping web apps using declarative UI frameworks like React or Vue.
  • Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript.
  • Experience designing, developing, and launching backend systems at scale using Python, Kotlin, AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes.
  • Ability to define technical plans for significant features or system components with simple, extensible design and high-quality code.
  • Experience making significant changes in a large codebase with safe tooling and practices.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for collaboration with a global engineering team.
  • Equivalent practical experience or a Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • Preferred experience maintaining high reliability in production environments.
