Description

  • Architect, design, and develop scalable, performant frontend applications for web platforms.
  • Define and implement frontend best practices for accessibility, security, testing, performance, and maintainability.
  • Own frontend architecture, frameworks, tooling, and component decisions.
  • Collaborate with Design, Product, backend, platform, and business teams to deliver effective user experiences and integrated systems.
  • Mentor engineers and help raise the team’s technical standards and engineering practices.
  • Contribute to technical roadmaps and guide major initiatives from concept through launch.
  • Identify, scope, and lead large technical projects that improve reliability, scalability, and system complexity.
  • Modernize internal platforms and improve operational workflows through technology.
  • Evaluate AI-assisted development tools and help establish effective team practices.
  • Travel periodically for in-person meetings, company events, and collaboration with Scout colleagues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
  • 8+ years of frontend engineering experience with staff-level or equivalent technical scope.
  • Deep expertise with React, NodeJS, GSAP, frontend ecosystems, and development best practices.
  • Expertise in micro-frontend architecture and large-scale frontend systems.
  • Experience building complex applications using GraphQL, RESTful, and/or RPC APIs.
  • Strong knowledge of web application security, secure coding, and security lifecycle integration.
  • Expertise in UI/UX, responsive and mobile-first design, SEO, WCAG accessibility, and performance optimization.
  • Experience with CI/CD, branching strategies, automated testing frameworks such as Playwright or Cypress, and cloud environments; AWS preferred.
  • Experience with analytics, experimentation, feature flags, and IAM/SSO systems such as Azure, Okta, or Auth0.
  • Preferred experience with React Native, AI/ML platforms or developer tooling, automotive or ecommerce products, multi-tenant platforms, mobile foundations, or full-stack engineering.

Benefits

  • Base salary of $165,000–$200,000; California range of $181,500–$220,000.
  • Annual performance bonus eligibility.
