Description

  • Lead engineers and managers with empathy while building a high-performance, ownership-driven, inclusive team culture.
  • Oversee storage services and analytics infrastructure, including relational, key-value, and analytics storage systems at scale.
  • Drive business and engineering metrics with a focus on reliability, security, and productivity.
  • Collaborate with tech leads, program managers, and engineering managers on architecture, security, planning, and delivery of concurrent projects.
  • Work across engineering and with internal and external partners to align on technical priorities and execution.
  • Provide mentorship, coaching, and growth opportunities for team members at all levels.
  • Recruit and represent Affirm’s hiring brand while contributing to team growth and hiring.
  • Lead technical decisions, projects, and roadmaps for Lakehouse Analytics, Analytics Engineering, and Privacy Engineering.
  • Develop multi-year roadmaps with tech leads to design and implement frameworks, services, and tools for new products and business needs.
  • Support the professional development of junior and senior engineers through guidance and tutoring.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience managing multiple diverse and inclusive teams and delivering large cross-functional technical programs.
  • Proven track record in stakeholder management, ownership, and successful delivery.
  • Experience managing large-scale, geographically distributed compute and data processing systems.
  • Experience with data lake solutions and workflow orchestration frameworks.
  • Experience scaling frameworks such as Snowflake, Spark, Flink, and Kafka on Kubernetes.
  • Experience with cloud providers such as AWS and storage systems such as AWS S3 and Apache Iceberg.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a growth mindset.
  • Experience in the data infrastructure domain and interest in leading technical teams and contributing to open source solutions.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
