Description

  • Design and build logic to intercept and observe streaming data metrics as data passes through Kafka I/O transforms.
  • Use Apache Beam to create portable data processing pipelines that operate at large scale.
  • Work with the core engineering team to integrate observations into the Integration Manager dashboard.
  • Test and validate that observability features maintain high throughput without disrupting streaming pipelines.
  • Research architectural patterns and plan a proof of concept for the observability solution.
  • Implement the proof of concept and automate testing for the project.
  • Use Generative AI tools and the GSD framework to accelerate development and documentation.
  • Produce clear technical documentation for the project and its implementation.

Requirements

  • Must be actively enrolled in a college degree program.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Strong proficiency in Java or Python, the primary languages for Apache Beam (nice to have).
  • Understanding of distributed systems concepts and how data moves through a network (nice to have).
  • Familiarity with producer/consumer messaging concepts, with Kafka experience a plus (nice to have).
  • Previous experience with Apache Beam or Google Cloud Dataflow (nice to have).
