Description

  • Provide high-quality virtual speech-language therapy services to K-12 students in Michigan.
  • Conduct standardized and non-standardized assessments, analyze results, and write evaluation reports.
  • Develop strengths-based, child- and family-centered treatment plans.
  • Ensure IEP, evaluation, and progress monitoring procedures comply with district, state, and federal guidelines.
  • Follow Michigan Administrative Rules for Special Education (MARSE) requirements for speech-language pathologists.
  • Initiate, participate in, and complete MET/IEP procedures and meetings.
  • Complete speech-language evaluations for initial referrals and re-evaluations within required timelines.
  • Develop IEP goals and objectives with teachers, staff, and parents aligned to core standards.
  • Provide speech-language services as specified in each student’s IEP and maintain accurate progress records.
  • Communicate regularly with parents, staff, and educational team members about student progress, needs, and evaluation results.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP).
  • Michigan Board of Speech-Language Pathology license.
  • Meets special requirements under Michigan Administrative Rules for Special Education (MARSE), R 340.1796.
  • Proficiency with computer applications, including MS Office Suite, Google applications, email, and internet applications.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to gather, analyze, and interpret student data to make educational decisions.
  • Strong content knowledge in one or more content areas.
  • Satisfactory completion of federal and state required background check.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Open to residents of Michigan.
  • Experience working in a diverse educational community setting and understanding of student/community demographics (preferred).
  • Understanding of state proficiency testing and state teaching standards (preferred).
  • Flexibility, integrity, teamwork, and genuine care for children (preferred).
