Description

  • Promote Acadia products to healthcare professionals in person and virtually with compliant clinical, disease-state, and reimbursement information.
  • Develop and execute a territory business plan to meet or exceed sales objectives using market data, customer insights, and quarterly action plans.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with healthcare professionals, key opinion leaders, advocacy organizations, and other stakeholders.
  • Address customer questions, concerns, and objections using advanced dialogue and selling skills.
  • Customize approved sales materials, clinical reprints, and brand resources to meet customer needs.
  • Collaborate with internal teams including managed markets, operations, sales training, and marketing to deliver coordinated solutions.
  • Provide guidance on pricing, reimbursement, and specialty distribution channels and serve as a liaison on access-related issues.
  • Track and report sales activities, expenses, and customer interactions accurately and on time.
  • Represent Acadia at conferences, exhibits, trainings, and meetings at the national, regional, and local levels.
  • Mentor and train new sales specialists and contribute to cross-functional projects and field insights.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required; life sciences emphasis preferred.
  • 3 years of sales experience with at least 1 year in pharmaceutical or related healthcare sales for Sales Specialist consideration.
  • 8 years of healthcare sales experience with at least 2 years in complex or account-based selling environments for Sr. Specialist consideration.
  • 12 years of healthcare sales experience with at least 3 years in complex or account-based selling environments for Executive consideration.
  • 1-2 years of sales experience with at least 1 year in pharmaceutical or related healthcare sales for the Sales Specialist pay level.
  • 5 years of healthcare sales experience with at least 2 years in complex or account-based selling environments for the Sr. Sales Specialist pay level.
  • Advanced selling skills, leadership abilities, and business acumen.
  • Proven ability to influence diverse healthcare professional audiences across multiple care settings.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently, adapt to change, and deliver consistently strong results.
  • Must reside within the territory or within 30 miles of its border and hold a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to meet significant travel requirements, including frequent driving, overnight stays, and occasional air travel.
  • Must comply with vaccination requirements for access to healthcare professional offices, long-term care facilities, and medical conferences.
  • Deep understanding of neuroscience disease states, Acadia products, and local/regional market dynamics.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and virtual engagement platforms such as Zoom and WebEx.
  • Strong understanding of payer dynamics, including Part D and specialty pharmacy or hub distribution.
