Description

  • Join deal teams to win new engagements by shaping architecture, scope, sequencing, and staffing.
  • Maintain trusted technical relationships with clients throughout important engagements.
  • Represent 8th Light through talks, writing, events, and other market-facing activities.
  • Shape and refine service offerings and the company’s technical market position.
  • Partner with Growth to develop relationships with cloud and AI platform partners.
  • Drive go-to-market direction, including market positioning, messaging, target opportunities, and areas of focus.
  • Mentor senior technologists and help raise technical and business leadership standards.
  • Contribute to technical job standards and career-pathing decisions.
  • Lead primarily through influence, with potential to build and manage a small team as the role grows.
  • Travel periodically for client pitches, in-person events, and team gatherings.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in custom software consultancies.
  • Track record of pitching and winning enterprise consulting engagements.
  • Experience contributing to delivery and making technical decisions that affect project profitability.
  • Strong communication skills across technical and executive audiences.
  • Current, hands-on technical judgment and continued engagement with emerging tools and practices.
  • Public technical presence through talks, writing, or community leadership.
  • Experience shaping consulting service offerings or a firm’s technical point of view.
  • Relationships with cloud or AI platform partners.
  • Working knowledge of AI and agentic tooling and the ability to assess practical opportunities.
  • Experience mentoring senior technical talent and leading through influence.
